The first major tract of Generation Park was sold to FMC Technologies, a leader in providing subsea equipment and services in the oil and gas industry, in 2012. FMC Technologies broke ground on May 2, 2014. Within the next two years, the company will move approximately 1,800 of its 3,700 Houston employees to the new campus. During this first phase, FMC Technologies will consolidate its western region subsea services operations into a single, 70-acre campus. With more than a million square feet of office and workshop space, this expansion will more than double the region's existing subsea services capacity.
“Development of Generation Park is good for Lake Houston Area and local economies of Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita and Summer Creek,” stated Chamber President Charlie Dromgoole. “FMC Technologies is the first large-scale development in Generation Park and the community is eager to hear its plans for Phase 1. We are looking forward to FMC Technologies' presentation at our luncheon this month and invite all area residents, business owners and interested parties to attend.”
Generation Park, owned by McCord Development, is situated along Beltway 8 and Lake Houston Parkway. The 4,000-acre, master-planned, mixed-use development is located about 20 miles from Downtown Houston, sits just minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport and boasts convenient access to the Port of Houston, appealing for traveling executives and companies in the business of transporting their products. The development will feature modern, sustainable business environments and state-of-the-art facilities.
Make lunch reservations and get more information by visiting LakeHouston.org. Cost is $25 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members.
