$80 Million Expansion Supports Growing Healthcare Needs of Lake Houston Area Communities
HCA-Affiliated Kingwood Medical Center (KMC) will celebrate the grand opening of its new three-story Women and Children's Center, an $80 million, 155,400 square-foot expansion providing a modern, healing environment close to home.
The media is invited to tour the new Women and Children's Center with community leaders, staff and board-certified physicians. Photo and/or interview opportunities will also be available. Complimentary Valet Parking will be provided with easy access to vehicles for a quick departure after the event.
The celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Chamber Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. at The Women & Children’s Center at Kingwood Medical Center Women’s Entrance located at
2299 U.S. Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.
As the leading provider of care for Northeast Harris, East Montgomery, San Jacinto and Liberty Counties, Kingwood Medical Center's top priority is to deliver high-quality health care to the communities we serve. The new Women and Children's Center allows our superior medical staff and outstanding team of employees to continue providing the safest and most expedited care for women and children at our hospital.
This project also reinforces the hospital's commitment to meet the present and future healthcare needs of the communities we serve. The growth is a sign of the continued economic vitality of this region.
In addition to new construction, the project also features renovations to other areas of the facility, including the relocation and expansion of Admitting and Administration departments, the development of a corridor connecting the North and South Towers, the expansion and remodeling of the cafeteria, and the development of a new central energy plant. About 185 parking spaces will also be added on campus.
KMC currently employs more than 1,300 people in surrounding communities. As a result of the expansion, additional jobs in clinical and ancillary service areas are anticipated.
