At its annual meeting of the Board of Directors, Will‟s Kids announced the formation of the Dream Team, a group of individuals and businesses making annual pledges to provide life-altering momentum for kids served by the organization.
Leading the charge is Chairman of the Board, Dave Kilby, who cites the current economic state as a reason to get involved. "Now more than ever, kids need our help," says Kilby. "This year, thousands of kids in our communities will be innocently affected by changes in their family‟s financial status. One has to ask, „What do we really leave behind if we turn our backs and walk away? How many Mozarts and Einsteins are left in the wake of poverty or depression?‟"
Incorporated in 2008 as a pay-it-forward organization, Will‟s Kids enables children in need to be the best they can be, promoting self-esteem, building confidence, and fostering success among the kids it helps. "Kids today are expected to be multidimensional by the time they reach adulthood," says Kilby. "It falls upon every adult now living to encourage and empower the highest standards of excellence and competency in our youth."
As a portal for education and achievement, Will‟s Kids assists with ongoing private lessons, training, summer camps, school activities, tutoring, and little league expenses for children ages 4 to 18. "The kids knocking on our door have limited means," says Kilby, "but they have limitless hope and determination. We‟re asking those who are more fortunate to be a catalyst for these kids by joining our Dream Team."
As a Dream Team member, your designated financial pledge of $500 or more can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually, and will fuel the dreams of countless kids. "We invite you to create an epic moment in your life," says Kilby, "by changing the life of a kid."
