Sandra Rogers owner of Spring Chicken Travel has been chosen as one of the finalists. Rogers represents the selectees from LSC - Kingwood district. Each year, the college recognizes successful small businesses that make an impact on the economy and the community. Nominees are gathered from the community; three finalists from each of the college districts are selected by members of the Lone Star College small business advisory committee. Each small business owner is selected based on entrepreneurial character, business growth, leadership, and contribution to the community.
Spring Chicken Travel opened in 2003. The agency is the realization of Rogers’ long held dream to be involved in travel business. “My success in business is in direct correlation to my education, which I received at Kingwood College. The college instilled in me the ability to make sound decisions necessary to succeed in business,” said Rogers. Rogers personal business goal is to ‘give back’ to the community by being involved in numerous charitable events sponsored by the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce and by providing mentoring programs to new travel agents.
