Mary Ann Lapaze, President of Hi-Neighbor, leading the mini parade

The Louisiana Connection of Hi-Neighbor (ladies social club) recently hosted their annual Mardi Gras Celebration at Kingwood Country Club. A full blown festival was created using glamorous, fabulous, authentic decorations from the South . Mary Ann Lapeze, president of Hi-Neighbor, gave an interesting speech about the history of Mardi Gras and rich cultural heritage of Louisiana. Members enjoyed seafood gumbo, fried catfish, okra and jambalaya, all typical Cajun dishes. The band lively played zydeco music, while a mini parade followed with bead throwing and non-stop dancing.

It was another successful event for the Hi-Neighbor club, which brought people together to enjoy the southern tradition of our neighboring state, Louisiana. Laissez les bon temps rouler’. Let the good times roll!
