In 2002, President George W. Bush proclaimed January as National Mentoring Month, a high profile campaign to draw attention to the need for more volunteer mentors to help America's young people achieve their full potential. Last year, more than 375,000 Americans responded by seeking out information about local mentoring programs that needed more volunteers.
We have a need for Mentors in Humble ISD; specifically at Humble Middle & Timberwood Middle Schools. Research has shown that volunteer mentors can play a powerful role in reducing drug abuse, teen pregnancy and youth violence; while greatly enhancing a young person's prospects for leading a healthy and productive life. Please help raise awareness about the importance of youth mentoring. Pass the word! Through this simple act, many thousands of lives will be positively impacted.
