Woodland Hills Elementary 3rd Grade Brownie Troop 9170 held a pet supply donation drive in the month of November for the Houston SPCA. Over the course of the month the girls hung flyers all over campus, and advertised on Woody TV.
All their hard work and efforts paid off. They brought in over 400 Lbs of pet supplies, and many care products. The items were all donated to the Houston SPCA, during a tour that they attended on 11/21/09. The girls learned several valuable lessons during the month of November. They learned about the importance of Spay/Neuter, the average cost to care for an animal, as well as Animal Care itself. One of their favorite activities was sewing blankets and bedding for the animals at the SPCA.
The troop had so much fun that on the way back from the field trip they were already beginning the planning of next year’s drive and how they would be able to get even more donations. So look out! These girls have more to come.
