Every year, Carmen Wisenbaker, also known as “The Publicity Diva,” chooses those in the community that she feels have performed some great marketing campaigns and are worthy of some much deserved recognition.
She is constantly interviewing business owners in the area in order to add them to her list. And, those that don’t make it to her Top 10 list, are often listed in her “Honorable Mention” section on her website.
So, how are the winners chosen? Carmen says she looks at a lot of different factors. Some being when a business offers a complete package, such as great customer service, educational foundations, knowledgeable personnel, professional office procedures, fabulous follow-up and consistency in their marketing efforts. But mainly... the types of businesses that have a real "pay it forward" attitude towards their community. That’s exactly why her #1 choice for this year was chosen. Dr. Kyle Buchan and Dr. Cody McComb of Kingwood Chiropractic Associates have always believed in these principles and operate their business accordingly.
Dr. Kyle and Dr. Cody met in college and found out early on that they would make great business partners. With that mindset, they continued with their education and took additional curriculum in running a successful practice. Each of the steps they implemented were very important in building their business, and today, they enjoy the success they dreamed about. They carefully market to the right audience and understand that not everyone is a perfect fit. They believe in educating their clients about their health concerns and encourage them to choose what’s best for them. Together they make business decisions and when hiring new personnel, they take their time in finding the perfect fit. All of this adds up to a great business foundation with continued success.
How do businesses find out they’ve won? It’s a complete surprise by most. Once the selections are made, Carmen and her “surprise patrol” head out to each business with a candy bouquet, a framed copy of the award, and a cameraman to take pictures of the winners. “It’s always so exciting to see their eyes light up when we come in,” states Carmen. She continues by saying, “they’re not always sure what they have won, but when they realize what it’s for, they just start beaming! Once all the winners have been surprised, we then add them to our website for all the world to see.”
