All students are encouraged to apply for financial aid, said Jason Kot, LSCS financial aid director. Unless students apply we cannot determine their eligibility for federal and state financial aid.
The financial aid would apply to the fall, spring and summer semesters.
Priority filing deadline is May 1 but even if students do not apply until later there may still be funds available, Kot said. This priority deadline does not affect eligibility for the federal Pell grant and Stafford loan programs.
Currently, 9,673 LSCS students are receiving more than $36 million in federal loans and grants while 3,169 students are receiving $2.77 million in state grants.
