Career Fair Highlights the Possibilities Available with a Degree from LSC-Kingwood's Business Program - Kingwood

The college offers many certificates that can be completed in just two or three semesters and several degrees that can be completed in two years.  Degrees include an Accounting AAS degree, a Facilities Management AAS degree, a Medical Office AAS degree, the Legal Office AAS degree, the Business Office AAS degree and a Management AAS degree with specialties in Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing, General Business, and Small Business Management.  Certificates include those in Bookkeeping, Medical Office, Legal Office and Business Office.

Elizabeth Chapman, Dean of Instruction at LSC-Kingwood, says �The College hopes to raise awareness of the workforce programs offered at LSC-Kingwood and how these programs can directly translate into jobs.  There are viable careers available to students with these certificate and degree programs.�

�We want people to realize that there is a serious need for specific industries.  For example, there is a crying need for accountants, not CPA level, but those that can maintain a company�s books, prepare budgets or perform an audit,� continues Chapman.

Also part of the day will be break-out seminars on basic how-to�s of getting a job, such as Best Tips for Interviewing and Writing a GREAT Resume.

Instructors will be available to answer questions, as well as counselors to help with registration questions, degree planning and other issues.
