This week in our "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, we sat down with Peterson Roofing & Construction.

Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around? It started with a legacy, grew with love, and today it’s powered by a husband and wife team, our children, and one

very confident pug.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started? Peterson Roofing & Construction is a local, family-owned business rooted in honesty and built for the Kingwood community. We take pride in offering high-quality work that’s actually affordable. Whether it’s roofing, fences, decks, gutters, siding, or pressure washing, we treat every job like it’s for our own home.

Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background? This isn’t just a business. It’s a family legacy. Peterson Construction originally started in Oklahoma, founded by one of our fathers. Years later, we brought that same passion for honest, skilled work to Texas and built on what he started. Today, we’re continuing that tradition as a husband and wife team, with our three sons now playing a hands-on role in helping run and grow the business.

We like to think we brought that small-town Oklahoma feel right here to Kingwood, where handshakes still matter, neighbors look out for each other, and quality work speaks for itself.

And yes, our company mascot is a black pug named Yoda. He proudly wears his lime green Peterson shirt and takes his role as “boss” very seriously. Honestly, we let him.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition? What sets us apart is simple. We show up when we say we will. We answer the phone. We’re clear about pricing. We keep the job site clean. And we treat your home with the same care and respect we’d give our own.

We’re proud of the trust we’ve built in this community. Every referral, every kind review, and every return customer

means the world to us. We’ve worked hard to earn that reputation, and we protect it with every project.

What is your favorite part of running this business? Working together as a family, and watching our boys become part of this journey, has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. We love helping other families feel safe, proud, and excited about their homes.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best? Our ideal customers are folks who appreciate honest work, good communication, and a team that genuinely cares. If you’re looking for reliable professionals who treat you like family, we’d love the chance to work with you.
