>> The Kingwood Country Club ruined the Class of 17' Senior Picnic, a very special event that my Senior got robbed of and can't get back. Disappointed twice within a few months. They need new Mgmt.

Chrissy77339: mind if I ask how?

podunk:

They shut the whole thing down an hour into it because their pools weren't equipped to handle the Senior class (something about filters). They offered to refund the fee per student... I'm still waiting for that credit. Entire Class of 17' was devastated.

it was the KPark senior picnic - the story I heard was the club had been cited on a couple of things and given a time frame to repair and failed to do so in the time prescribed so the city of houston came and shut them down in the middle of the KPark senior picnic. 4951

I'm pretty sure a fair bit of the Park CO '17 didn't really care that much. Devastated is a stretch. My son, also in the class, didn't care. He thought it was kind of funny. 4951

I'm not gonna lie....75.00/pp is a bargain!! The food & drinks alone are worth it. Wish we'd gone!!!

I heard it was hot dogs and burgers? If that is true they must have been really good 🌭

It's all about the money. You would of thought they would of at least fired one off the night before to see if you could see it from Town Center. It's not rocket science. I 4951

Andreweggplant they had 2 offers you could pay for at KCC.  The $75 was a deal for the food and drinks and watching while sitting inside. To to person that is whining and complaining about the "richies" at KCC, are you 12?  Give adulthood a shot. This was not on KCC or on Town Center.  There was a mistake made with the fireworks company.  They miscalculated a lot.  There was more than one issue with the fireworks.  Even some of the "richies" weren't able to see them.  Is it really hard for people to grasp a mistake was made?  For real and seriously?  And OMG, for any senior to be devastated by having a pool party shut down early, is beyond my grasp too, thank God!  I can understand that many were upset, or put out, esp while waiting for funding to go back to the school.  But having a pool party shut down early shouldn't be a blip on anyones radar.  If it is, brace yourself, the real world is going to do a number to you.

Obviously you were not there.  If I were any sponsor other than KCC (and there were many) I would be all over someone.  The "promoters" took the money (from all who were willing to sponsor) and then failed to deliver.  It should be expected that folks (especially with children) who waited through the heat of the day, only to be unable to see that which was advertised, promoted and promised - - not delivered.  Free or not - - folks are "owed" what they are promised - - and in the case of sponsors - - owed what they paid for. 4951

Thanks, Tony for the straight up "facts".  I appreciate your honesty and candor.  Do consider this - - if it remains as is - likely some of your sponsors will "drop out" because they have no desire to disappoint their (usual) clients/customers.  Besides - - more and more will (as others have stated in this post) simply go to the Woodlands. Houston or elsewhere.  If that is the 'message' that is intended - - then fine........but I think the "planners" should think long and hard about the path that this may take! 4951
