@problemagainI agree that nobody should be reaching for any axes.  However, I disagree with you that this was somehow unavoidable or, frankly, even a surprise. The decision was made to do "the same show" (presumably meaning firing at roughly the same height) but move it 2-3x further away from the common public viewing points.  Simple trigonometry says that this will lower the angle at which the fireworks will explode to a watcher in the same spot.  I get that organizing an event like this is not done casually over dinner one night.  But I would appreciate it if we simply got the truth so that we can collectively have a conversation about what - if anything - we want to change next year.  As I've said in prior posts - there are solutions.  We will more quickly find one that works for most people if we are able to deal with the plain facts in front us.I don't know.  There are very real topics for discussion.  The guy's head should not roll for this.  Hell - Maybe I should get involved if I care so much... not that I'd have any idea how to go about doing that.

It has been rumored that the location inside the KCC grounds was moved from the one previous used for years to get a better location to accommodate the people inside the club who spent $65 for dinner and a fireworks show. This needs to be seriously looked at to find out if this is indeed true or simply a rumor.
Those of us in Kingwood have been getting the short stick ever since the annexation. A portion of monies that we so kindly donate to the City of Houston every year helps pay for the Freedom Festival held downtown on July 4th. As contributors we should have a say whether those monies should be used just for those downtown and midtown folks or whether a portion be returned to us for OUR display in OUR neighborhood. Dave Martin, get us our fair share of the pie so we can take the burden off our locals. 4951

Teatime, you are the voice of reason. It's so ridiculous. We have so much bigger problems in this country than whether you can see a couple of fireworks going off. Talk about a spoiled entitled group of people. I'm not talking about a couple of posters who complained about it and left it at that. I'm talking about those who signed up to just come and rip a new one on Tony. Give it a break people. 4951
Sweetie LOL you're agreeing with tea but you've been on this site all day rehashing and thanking everyone. Now you agree that it's stupid to be talking about it 2 days later. Wow hahahahaha! 4951

Haven't come close to being on all day LOL Agree with tea but go right ahead and keep the thread going. Rehashing I think it was stated. LOL I'm out, for God's sake, it's been 2 freaking days sweetie, 2 days! 4951
