Just a reminder that westbound Kingwood Dr will be delayed during the day for a little while...
The City of Houston's Public Works and Engineering Department will begin a dual panel replacement project at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Chestnut Ridge this week. Construction at this location will begin in the westbound inside curb lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge. After that panel replacement is complete, the construction will move to the westbound outside gutter lane of Kingwood Drive at Chestnut Ridge.
The crews will work between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to avoid excess congestion during peak hours. In order to complete this project as soon as possible, crews will be on site on Saturday, June 17. The westbound inside curb lane has been closed as of today, June 14. Kingwood Drive is expected to have both westbound lane repairs at Chestnut Ridge completed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, weather permitting.
At least one westbound lane will remain open at all times, however intermittent delays are expected during construction. As a result, Council Member Martin has alerted the Houston Police Department's Kingwood Substation and asked for assistance with traffic mitigation when possible. Additionally, traffic control measures are in place on site including traffic barrels, traffic cones, directional signage and flagmen.
