And there is a new Rooms to Go and Rooms to Go outlet being finished in Humble.  Who knew we needed more furniture stores in the area... 4951

@Andreweggplant: It could have been another mattress store!!  Do we really use up that many mattresses that they have a store every couple of miles?  Sad to see a mainstay like Sears being reduced to only a few appliance stores.

@footloose: Sear's got everything it deserved. Nothing quite like going into a store and upsold on everything you look at. "Oh hi, looking at this fridge, its a nice fridge but this one over here is on sale(insert spiel about this better fridge) and you can get an extended warranty for a small fee, but of course you are going to get the warranty! Want us to install it for you? Whats your address let me just check how soon we can get it out to you" Me- "Uh......actually I was just looking around"Checking out isn't much better. What is your phone number, do you have a rewards card, no, do you want one, no, are you paying with a sears card, no, do you want to apply for one, no, would you like to donate to X charity, no. Seriously waiting in line at sears is mind numbing, a 6 person line can take ages if people get confused with the questions.

Have you ever been a salesperson, one that is on commission?  Sears has a plan for its employees that gives them a salary plus, and the plus is important to the employee,  commissions for the extras they manage to upcharge.  Nothing different than what any other business with the same specs does.  You need to let someone else do your shopping for you or take one of those commissioned jobs and then come back and tell us another story. 4951

@footloose: Or OR! I could not shop there, and watch the long lasting chain swirl the toilet bowel while I shop at a store that doesn't pay it's employees extra to screw me (or my gullible relatives) over and sell me things I don't need or want. Gonna pass on the used car dealership feeling every time in this age where I don't even "need" to step in a store if I don't want to.

At the pace Kingwood & surroundings are growing it makes sense to have a furniture store. People buy a new home or rent one.  Furnishing is needed so there we go. Sears was good store, his employees were helpful, and knew most of the regular shoppers. I hated to see them go. But as an alternative IMO a furniture store is good to have. Good luck to the owners.   4951

Not sure why you are so angry.  Sears has very reliable appliances so it is your loss by passing up that option.  Suit yourself.  I haven't been in any appliance store where they don't want to sell you, at the very least, a warranty.  Yup, even that there toaster.    4951

I agree with a lot of the posts on here...and they made me crack up LOL On the up side I guess I'd rather another furniture store....hope it's a good one....than the friggin dollar store they are putting in. I'm pretty ticked about that. Kingwood is turning into another trashy neighborhood. Take down the Livable forest signs bc that's not happening here anymore. We let the ghetto in!! 4951

Think it is gang related or just kids with too much time on their hands? 4951
