Or if she was just a winch that took the kids.
Remember 30 years ago abused women did not get the legal help they do now. Many had to kidnap, run and hide to protect their children. Some still have to. I would if I had to.
@Burnsway: I completely agree. A domestic dispute as cited may have been a 'I will kill you threat from the then husband.' So, if she moved/ran away with her little ones, and now she can prove at the time she was in fear-for her & kids life then the law should allow her to remain free. Does he have a record with the law? On the other hand, and giving the benefit of the doubt to the husband, he also has a say. Did she run away with a lover? Who cared and supported the children through adulthood will tell lots abt the story. Or, will the husband owe child support by now? Bottom line is, we do not know the reasons
