You would probably have a heart attack if you saw the actual cost that the property owners incur in these shopping centers…. Taxes, insurance, cost of property maintenance, etc. it is outrageous.

If, rents are too high, it is difficult to achieve a profit margin. No one is working just to pay taxes & rent.

they had a location near my son's home, in Spring, and it closed about a year before the KW location opened.

I don't think you understood my statement. The people that renters rent from that are known as the property owners have outrageous expenses to cover when establishing rent for their tenants. That is the biggest contributor to rent being expensive. Rent is cheaper in undesirable areas or in centers that are poorly kept. Our community would definitely prefer to see the shopping centers well kept and maintained. I am sure.

FreebyrdII: that's too bad. Sorry to see that business close. I went twice. It was very sweet. Maybe one of those Mochi donut and Korean Corn Dog places will go into that spot.

I love sweet treats, but even though they looked good, that outrageous fat & sugar overload was far too much!!

When choosing a retail space to rent, the number one rule is location, location, location!! Rent should be a small percentage of your monthly operating expenses.

Have y'all seen the price of Chocolate lately? I still love me some Frozen Reesie Cups. It's my cure all. So even though they shrunk them down and raised the price I still buy them.

The one in Pearland closed as well. Honestly it doesn't seem like a very good business model to me. It's the kind of place people may go just occasionally. Seems to me this kind of concept would do better somewhere with a lot of tourist foot traffic like the Kemah Boardwalk.

I never went! Too many calories and sugar. It never appealed to me.

Yes, like others have mentioned it looked like sugar overload. I just couldn't justify an occasion where I needed to consume that many calories.
