I saw some people with signs when I left HEB but didn't care enough to see what they were protesting to cross Lake Houston Pkw in traffic. I figured it was probably about Trump.

At least they/we still have the right to openly protest peacefully.

Ticagro : I don't necessarily think it was a waste of time. What you witnessed is probably a result of generational tactics. Older people might be more inclined to protest on the streets depending upon the subject matter. While younger people might have the same grievance, but they choose to voice their displeasure online.

So, you really can't judge the intensity of anger or disagreement with government policy anymore solely based upon the number of individuals you see with protest signs. That's the mistake folks made in the 2020 election cycle where they assumed voter interest was less or greater depending upon how many people attended rallies for one candidate or the other.

Maybe, just maybe, they love America enough to stand in the heat to voice things they feel are hurting it. You being annoyed or bothered by it in any way only benefits them. Especially if it's enough to get you posting about it on a public forum.

I lived for several years in Puerto Rico.
Protests, even today, involve stepping outside "cacerola," cooking pot in one hand and a utensil to bang on it in the other hand. A cacerolazo was both a sight to behold and deafening.
Forms of protest are as varied as cultures.
