Kittle : I had to look them up.
Water beads are super-absorbent polymer spheres that grow up to 100 to 500 times their original size when soaked in water.

What They Are Made Of

• Super-absorbent polymers (SAP): Usually made from cross-linked polyacrylate chemicals that trap water inside a gel-like structure.
• Growth: They expand from tiny grains (about 1/16th of an inch) into bouncy, marble-sized spheres (about 1/2 inch) after soaking for 4 to 8 hours.

Common Uses

• Home and Event Decor: Used as vase fillers for floral arrangements, floating candles, and LED lights.
• Plant Hydration: Used in soilless plant potting or to keep cut flowers hydrated.
• Sensory Play: Used for children's tactile and sensory bins (though safety warnings apply due to ingestion risks).
• Physics Demonstrations: Clear water beads seem to "disappear" in water because their refractive index matches water closely.

Safety and Storage

• Choking and Ingestion Hazard: Water beads can expand further if swallowed, causing severe internal blockages; they require strict adult supervision or avoidance around young children.
• Reusability: You can shrink them back down by letting them air-dry, or store them in a sealed container when hydrated. Discard them if you notice dark spots or mold.
• Purchasing Options: Popular choices include Water Beads by Ashland at Michaels, Aquabeads Create N Decorate kits at Target, and bulk options on Amazon Water Beads.

They are are on Amazon. They are called dry beads, and yes, they are for floral arranging. BUT be careful not to drop them on the floor. They have to be REALLY bad for pets. If they are already "blown up" they probably not as bad, but if they ate them prior to water, it could be deadly if they got stuck in them.
