Kittle : But when these cats are gone I will be sad. But I really would hate it if they were ever homeless. Cats live a very long time if they are inside cats. I would say they live about 15 to 20 years.

Donnawisdom : I had one as a child that lived to be 23. Back then was both indoor and outdoor. She was lucky!

Lizvac : Totally agree….. I definitely will never use them again.

Doddlebug50 : In my opinion I think they care more about the almighty $ than about our pets, and I find that sad and disgusting. There's such a thing as pricing things reasonably but they seem to have turned the other cheek, and I know many others who feel the same way. They keep that up and they won't have a clientele.

Vet services are cheaper in rural areas.

We recently got annual workups, shots, and 6 month heart worm-meds for our three pups - and it ran a little over $500.

Our son brought his fur-ball out here to our vet for the same checkup and got out for $250 or so. It was a 3-hour drive, but he saved $500 less than they charged him in Kingwood last year.

Edited to add we had the Chihuahua spayed last winter and it was around $200.

Well, I love Northpark Animal Hospital. Dr Beggs before it sold and Dr Phillips now are both extremely good vets. They know me and my dogs by name. They keep up with their ailments. They always call a few days after our appointments to check on how my dogs are improving.

After Dr Beggs left, I had a question. I messaged him on Facebook and he called me back later that day. And he didn't even work there anymore.

When our oldest dog finally passed away, Dr Phillips handled that with so much dignity and compassion for us. I wouldn't have wanted to pass my poor dog over to anybody else.

Yes, they are expensive. Is it worth it? Also, yes. My dogs are definitely part of my family, and I'm grateful we have the means to give them excellent level of care. I won't apologize for that.

Yes, that is super high. Are you considering the cleansing biscuits that was mentioned or the other places,

My dogs get those all of the time. Jack just has a lot of tartar. His check up and shots were $650, also. It seems like that's their magic number.

The dental rinse you add to their water bowl works well also - it's not an instant cleaning, but our old guy's teeth & gums are in good shape now. It takes 6 weeks or so to really see difference. But avoids the anesthetic and the trauma.
