We've used Aldine Westfield Animal Clinic for two dog neuterings and tooth removal. Costs are no where as expensive.

How are the rest of their prices?

Our precious Goliath was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. We were quoted a minimum of 9k per hip and Texas A&M Vet Hospital in College Station. It was 14k at another vet. No pet insurance will cover it. I'm stymied. We took him to Texas Litter Control for his neuter and it was $200.00. He was not quite 100 lbs, yet. 1k + the pre-op +800 seems so excessive. I don't get the price differential. We all just want to do the best for our fur babies.

I paid $300 at Loop 494. There are places that are less expensive and do it without having to anesthetize them. I'm still investigating for our little guy.

I adopted my cat from VAP, they do not release animals for adoption until they have been spayed/Neutered and have had blood work and at least first round of shots. The cost of cat adoption was $75.00. We donated an extra $75.00. He was about a year old (I did want a young kitten). He has been a wonderful pet.

We use Trinity Valley Animal Hospital. 936-336-2263
$200 to neuter dog. Told me to make my own dog collar out of cardboard and duct tape. LOL It worked. Must be current on shots. Obviously they are very busy. 40 minute drive saved $$$.

I had a cat I took to NP several years ago because he needed to be seen asap and my regular vet ( who is a single practitioner in a private practice) was too backed up. 2 years later I thought the issue we started with was back and took him back there. It was an infected tooth instead. They quoted me $1200+, not including the several hundred $$ for that days visit. I got him to my regular vet, who did the whole tooth extraction for less than $300. Vets in private practice are SO MUCH cheaper, generally!!

I paid $988 to have my cat's teeth cleaned. But they had to pull five teeth out. He's a cat I adopted at 9 years old and his mouth was a mess! He went from being an infected dying cat to a normal more playful one so I'm assuming all these different prices probably have a lot to do with an animal's total condition when treated.

It's also the risk putting your dog under anesthetic .
How does the service you used get the dog to cooperate with teeth cleaning...

Doddlebug50: I go to NW Animal Hospital on 1960 w. I've used three different vetinarians in Kingwood also with the emergency vet in Humble. It was always over 1k… my last annual visit for checkup and shots was $86.
