You won't believe this. A man who voted against dredging-district and flood-warning system bills wants to represent the Lake Houston Area in Washington. He's also campaigning on protecting our security. Check this out.

He better be careful or Patrick and Paxton will try to redraw his district lines in the special Legislature session that starts next week.

eighteen : Abbot and the Republican leadership are intent on process that is highly unusual, if not unique. A redrawing of Congressional district halfway between censuses. The purpose is obvious, reduce the number of districts the Democrats can win in 2026, 2028. I doubt it can be done by 2026 because whatever they do will result in litigation and as we all know that that takes time.

eighteen : yes it's legal in the next election after the Census is official. This is a play for the mid terms to try and maintain a House majority and buck the historical trends of the party in power losing seats.
