StormChaser : We have a generac, 22K watts, installed by Parco Electric last summer and they were amazing to work with. Entire process took about 6 weeks because of centerpoint delays but Parco handled everything.

I have a Kohler generator that could run up to 3800 sq feet and it is really really quiet. Inside I can't tell it is on. I can't remember the company we used because after picking it out I handed everything over to butler. I got a second gas meter but you will not need that.
I will say it is not a cheap. I consider it a luxury. It needs to be serviced twice a year.
You have posted pictures how high water gets in your back yard so I would get a higher than suggested cement platform to put it on.
Yes, forgot mention that. our back easement always is a pond with heavy rain. We have ours on an elevated platform also.
Yes-they are great! We were so nervous to spend that much money on a whole house generator but they really made it easy and were so wonderful throughout the process.
1ï¸âƒ£What brand do you have?
Generac
2ï¸âƒ£ Where did you purchase it?
Generator Super Center
3ï¸âƒ£ What size is it?
22KW
4ï¸âƒ£ Did anyone buy one directly (like Lowes) and then have it installed by someone who does generator? (I'm guessing electrician or plumber)
No, they handled everything, including attaching to a gas line

We have Briggs and Stratton. I believe 24w. Home 4700. Powers whole house, including pool and landscape lights. We do have to switch between oven and dryer but no biggy. 3 ac units. It has been worth it. It is a big expense but purchased in fall months so no premium pricing. Our area seems to loose power when we have a light breeze. Should have bought when we purchaced house.

StormChaser : 1) Generac 2)Generac Supercenter 3)24 Kw - 3444 square feet 4)Generac Supercenter I have used it a couple of times and it has been nice. You will have to put in a second gas meter. It will "exercise" once a week. I would recommend get the HOA approval. I have been told they cannot deny approval as people with medical devices would need it but considering my run ins with the HOA, it is prudent. All this takes time.
trilobite73 : Totally off topic, but when is the next electronic recycling at the park and ride? I thought it was the first or second Saturday each month but it seems like the May one didn't happen.
buffaloglenn : What are you talking about? I was answering an inquiry about home generators.
buffaloglenn : Thanks for the tip!
