This is what RatFink and I found when we got home.  Been running the water for a quite a while and it's still coming out nasty.  The city has got to do something about this and they should credit us for the water that we've had running trying to "clear" it.  This is CRAZY!!!!  And whomever is saying that this stuff is safe to drink, I'd love for them to come over and have a glass.  I'll save this one just for them.

Thanks to Isiah factor on my fox26 who has been pushing the issue with the right people and this is what they sent him.

Latest from the city of Houston Public Works:

CNS-Construction is removing a fire hydrant on 12 water main and we isolated several valves in the area witch cause turbidity settle in the water. The repairs should be complete today.  We also repaired a 12” water main break at North Park and West Lake Houston on February 2, 2016, we also received brown water calls then. We are flushing the hydrants in the area to clear the water.

This goes to Dave martin who said the water is safe to drink, bathe, and cook.

Be my guest.
And by the way I need a discount on my water bill, a maid to clean the residue from my tubs toilets and sinks and someone to pay for my hotel stay to shower my kids in clean water, and the pizza I bought tonight since I will not cook with that nasty water.
And a refund for the water filter and water bottles and gallons of water that I need .

Brat:
Yes that's what I said.
I planned on making pasta but there was no way I was going to use that nasty water to cook my noodles.
I have been on the phone most of the day trying to get people to fix this issue in hopes to be able to bathe my kids and cook but we had to find alternatives. 4951

Humble Mommy: Ok, that's fine and dandy. Remember this...chit happens. Throwing the "reimbursement" part is what ticks me off the most. It happens everywhere, and you ain't gonna be reimbursed. You did awesome by getting public attention, let alone city attention.
I'm glad you found alternatives for the kids. That the main priority for the household in situations like this. P.S. I used to date a hispanic and he told me about a time when they had brown water as a kid. His mom filled the bath, and put a pinch of bleach in it. After the bath, his mom would slap their back with a Bible and say they were clean. Gotta love those peeps....and the menudo and homemade tamales.   4951

Brat: chit happens??? No I don't remember that.
And yes TRUST me I don't expect to be reimbursed it was more of a inconvenience and I want the city to know that. Listen, the news people were here recording a while it's not my fault they chose what they wanted from the recording to air on the news. They left out the part where my family was sick and how I invited the water and council people to come have a glass of water in my home this evening and much more.

And P.S. what was the point of you telling me you dated a hispanic??

Regardless I am doing my part to get us clean healthier water so say what you want....

Humble Mommy: **** happens... I would have said "**** happens," but the website automatically turns that verbage into ****. I'm sorry that your family has been sick. Was it because of the water, and been diagnosed due to the water? Yes, I agree how they film everything and then film what they want. It sucks. About my ex, I was merely telling a story that he told me when they had a brown water as a kid. Crazy hispanic moms rule. Take it as you may. If you want healthier water, buy bottled. I'm sure there's less chlorine in those. 4951

@bratWhy does expecting a reimbursement tick you off.  If you ordered a drink at the bar and it didn't taste right you would expect another or your money back.  You wouldn't pay for another to see if they could get that one right.Just because it's a city service and "**** happens" doesn't mean it acceptable.  Our tax dollars pay for the infrastructure and then we pay for the water too.  Toxic chemicals etc get into the water systems across the country too...should we just sit back and take it, because as you say "**** Happens"? 4951
