Water main repair

From Dave Martin. Sounds like the fix is tonight.

KINGWOOD WATER MAIN BREAK: There is a water main break on W Lake Houston Pkwy near Kingwood Drive. Residents/businesses in the area might experience low water pressure throughout the day today. Currently, crews have managed to isolate the leak to mitigate disruption in services. However, crews will need to shut the line down tonight from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. to make the repair. While the repair is being made ~1200 residents and businesses will not have water. Our office will continue to provide updates as they become available. If you have any questions please contact us at districte@houstontx.gov. 4951

ET : Thanks for the information. I had some water jugs filled for hurricane season. Will need to keep filled for an issue such as a water main break. 4951

Is the brown water safe to drink? Is it just rust? It doesn't smell. but it sure beats up the whites. 4951

jwardl : Totally safe, and full of vitamins and minerals! Emoticon

It's usually just sediment that was already in the water lines, and the water you have been drinking/using/showering/washing your clothes with has passed by anyway. If it wasn't safe, the city would have to provide boil water notices. 4951
