My husband and I went to I think it's called The Flying Biscuit not to long ago. I thought they were pretty good. But… (of course) I like my grits without cheese. Salt, pepper, and some butter.

We absolutely love Flying Bisquit. Service and food are friggin awsome.

Buuuut, I wouldn't mind a local Waffle House.
