Venting!!
The fun never ends. DH went to sit with Mom until I got out of my dr appointment. As we're walking to his truck, a guy wrote him a ticket because his placard had expired in Aug. The current placard is in my car so I told him that and I'd run get it since I had been at an appointment but he said he couldn't delete or amend it. He does have DV tags and we do know the placard is required. So now his updated placard is in his truck. Mom's is in mine. So, MOCO wrote a $500 ticket to be paid in downtown Houston. What?!?!

Contact them; you might be able to send proof of eligibilty ( pic of your placard), and they will excuse the ticket. Thanks to your DH for his service.

That's absolutely ridiculous! Worth fighting! Definitely get in touch with the court or agency.

Where was the appointment? A MoCo officer can only give a ticket for a violation in Montgomery County. If that was the case they'd have you go and pay it at MoCo JP. If they gave you a ticket anywhere out of their jurisdiction you can contest it.
Some of MOCO is in CoH which would be written for CoH courts

That makes sense.
So sorry to hear that especially since you have legitimate access to park there.

I would contest it. Explain your situation and they should be understanding. Couldn't the guy have just written you a warning especially since you were with your elderly mom? A little compassion and common sense can go a long way in this poor little world!
PlaneCrazy, KanKan and Kittle + 4 more reacted Once a ticket is printed they are not allowed to cancel it. It is a pain to take care of. Good luck.
that is not fully true; the judge can adjudicate it, in different ways, and as her husband is a DV, and they can prove they deserve access, I think this is a case where many of them would find a way. I hope so.
i see able bodied folks park all the time in handicao esp at starbucks....i am more disabled than they are imo
