I have a problem with unpaid volunteers handing out tickets. That is a police job since they are charged with the duty to uphold the law. When do police get to delegate that? I think you have to be a busy body to do something like that much like the HOA. I am a big on the mind you own business mantra. If there was a police officer giving a 90 year old handicapped man a ticket because he was over the line that would be shameful. I think it would be okay to tell him to make sure he checks when he parks next time but not a 500 dollar ticket. Hopefully the court will just dismiss it. Let the police do their job they don't need volunteers issuing citations.
MARYBEES : I can see giving a warning in regards to a tire on the line. I have seen once the whole car was a foot over the line. That would for sure warrant more than a warning.

MARYBEES : Maybe the volunteers could also have warning tickets for minor offenses like line violations. I'm doubt most 90 year old men can afford a $500 fine, and maybe they just need a wake up call. « Back to Chat
