Unbelievable I just had to put this out there it's been bugging me all night, my wife and I stopped at the porter Walmart on our way home yesterday about 7:20pm as we went through the self-checkout a woman with a overflowing basket proceed to scan we noticed she scanned little stuff and put a couple things in each bag covering the stuff in the bottom then scanned the Gatorade hanging on the sides. Paid for the few things she scanned and left. we were behind her while leaving she smiled at the young man at the door with her receipt in hand that he never tried to look at and said have a good night. We stood there in front of him in disbelief and said that lady did not pay for that stuff he just said have a good night and moshined us out the door. You could see that nothing below the top bags was bagged. It was so obvious, we saw her loading her trunk she took the unbagged stuff out of her basket and put in bags she had in her trunk. I felt like I was in California where ley blatantly let people steal. The young man at the door did not care, Did he know her?
BLSS : stay here all day and you'll learn most don't want higher prices but are unwilling to make the small sacrifices necessary to mitigate the problems because feelings may be hurt.
seem2 : Exactly. If walmart cared they would create a system that doesnt allow it. Its cheaper to let the stuff go.
ZMAN : Unless the woman and the receipt checker are in on it. I just heard a comedian on a podcast talk about how he and his friends would rip off Home Depot because the checker was in on the scam...
BLSS : I would have reported it to the Walmart security staff...who knows how many other stores this person has ripped off.
BLSS : The young man at the front may or may not have been in on it, but regardless, he wouldn't have been allowed to go after her for the theft. It is awful to see these things happen and not be able to do anything about it. If she's a repeat offender, hopefully at some point she will be caught.
Doddlebug50 : Yes, but he could be putting himself or other customers in danger if she was carrying a weapon on her. I believe it's a liability issue with the store itself.

BLSS : People like this....cause prices to go up for the rest of us to compensate for their theiving ways. Makes me sooooo mad!!
The savings of having self checkout are so significant that they honestly don't give a ****. They have internal loss prevention teams for this kind of crap though.
ZMAN : They kind of care, I mean they have loss prevention staff, and a guy checking receipts...the receipt checker is obviously not doing his job, and people above him need to be aware... This discussion has been locked.
