HappyDay2016 : Natural gas is the most convenient fuel supply, although it does cause around 20% less power output from the generator versus gasoline. Yours is a good size generator though so you will be in good shape, powering whatever you need in your house, including AC if you set up your compressor with a soft starter.

I'm in Dallas right now. I just got out of the simulator at work and drove back to the hotel, from Love Field to Las Colinas. The roads are a sheet of ice. I'm OK driving in this because this was normal winter driving for me all my life up in New York. The bad news is that the locals here in Dallas are clueless as to how to safely drive in this. The good news is that they're smart enough to know that they can't drive in this and they're all staying home, the roads around here are almost empty.

I just found out my son has a flight in the morning at 7:30 and I am so concerned…any word if flights going to be canceled? That means he would be on the roads at 5:30 am👀. Mom Worries you know🥺

AggieBandMom : Yeah if it's out of IAH, it will be canceled unless something drastically changed. Hobby has a better chance of less ice but it's not a guarantee.

OUTAGES: unfortunately, about 50,000 are without power tonight as the brutal cold sets in. This is NOT an Ercot issue. With freezing rain, some of this is inevitable.We are thankful that this event hasn't produced more icing thus far. But thinking and praying hard for those without power tonight.
