SpaceCat : That was before my time but today sucks. Don't get me wrong, we decided to stay because one does not easily leave 32+ years of friendships and the close proximity to children but comparatively speaking the 90's were definitely different. Better different.
buffaloglenn : Yep, we all remember that one……it was the shock of the town…….an extremely rare occurrence. And that's the point. No town is without crime, but I'll still take the 90's any day. Little crime, little traffic, little classrooms…..yeah, give me the 90's all day every day. Sniff
Ruger5 : I'm glad for you that you remember the old days fondly. You just weren't aware of all that was going on around you. The information age is wonderful, but has made us much more aware, in real time (and often in greatly exaggerated terms) of what is happening in our hood.
buffaloglenn : Oh we had our gossip Calvary back then. Word did spread but you make a valid point. I'm not just speaking of crime tho and while we ourselves have been on the expensive losing end of two crimes ……..my biggest beef is the overcrowding and congested traffic…..oh and everybody in my way at the grocery store…….and Costco….oh and the fret of kiddies on high powered scooters running amuck…….and street beggars…..tapping head against wall.
