Yeah the cap broke. No cap = like a lid off a boiling pot of water with nothing to stop it from "boiling over" aka creating and/or sustaining storms.

Yep the wind has picked up considerably and it has gotten very dark outside. So far no rain yet. Thankfully I was able to get my morning walk in. Just got back about five minutes ago in the nick of time. The walk was actually quite enjoyable with the wind and it kept the mosquitoes away!

It does feel great outside. I just got back from my morning walk and it felt amazing. I was walking at a pretty fast pace and hardly sweat at all. Plus the breeze kept the mosquitoes away.

Wednesday forecast I'm hearing the first rumble of thunder as I type this. ⚡ They say broken line but it looks pretty solid to me! Should get frequent lightning & thunder plus moderate rainfall in the heavier cells. Nothing like what Dallas had to deal with this morning! Showers And A Few Thunderstorms Are Possible Today In Houston Eric Berger · Wednesday, June 5, 2024 7:14 AM In brief: We may see a broken line of showers and thunderstorms move into the Houston region today, although I think rainfall accumulations will be hit or miss. Still, it's something to be aware of if you're going to be out and about today. After that we're looking at several days of hot and sunny weather, although there's a non-zero chance of a weak front early next week. Current radar 811am: WEDNESDAY There is a complex of thunderstorms near Waco and Lufkin this morning that will move steadily southward. Although I'm not convinced this line of organized storms will hold together, some showers and thunderstorms may move into Houston later this morning, likely reaching areas such as The Woodlands and Kingwood 10 am to noon, central Houston an hour or two later, and pushing into coastal counties around noon or shortly after. Anything that develops will likely have cleared the area by this evening's commute. Rainfall amounts will be widely variable, with a few isolated locations perhaps seeing 1 to 2 inches of rain, and many other parts of the metro area no accumulations at all. I can't rule out some severe thunderstorms with this line, but overall the chances for strong winds and hail are fairly low. Highs will depend on the extent of clearing this afternoon, but most locations should reach the low 90s with partly sunny skies after the system passes through.
Weather forecasters don't know anything. Once again, after declaring that we'd be dry all week, not only are we getting rain but we're getting this severe crap. Big surprise. I guess we just don't get normal rain storms anymore.

So far it's seemed normal here. Just rain. I haven't even heard thunder. I'm in the back of Kingwood.
sweetie : It does feel great outside. I just got back from my morning walk and it felt amazing. I was walking at a pretty fast pace and hardly sweat at all. Plus the breeze kept the mosquitoes away.
I know people give weather forecasters a hard time, I always give them a hard time on X in all good fun. They all read from the same script from NOAA and break it down for non-weather peeps. The Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and even the Wednesday midnight runs all showed lots of Warm Air Advection (Building Cap) Then a cooler air trough just dips down more than expected.
