buffaloglenn : I have 5 mature pine trees in my backyard and not a one fell over. Just a couple broken branches from one. In fact, a whole canopy oak toppled over onto my neighbor's roof - the roots were shallow. Still trimming would at least help some. Less wind resistance?

nouser : I think pine trees are more bendable and the wind meets with less resistance against slim needles vs leaves.

nouser : Technically they are trees and yes - COH/CP should have had them taken down years ago….

@RedROW : They should put them underground.

@RedROW : There are no power lines anywhere near my home. I am sure that is the case for most Kingwood residence as most of the lines run in the greenbelt trails. I know that when they dig in someone's yard they are supposed to restore the area. If they don't you can make them. Having them run the lines underground would solve a lot of problems long-term. None of the recent entities who put utilities in at my properties ruined anything.

nouser : It is not the city's responsibility unless it is on city property. If the easement is on private property, it is the responsibility of the property owner. Centerpoint should start billing the property owners and their insurance companies for the cost of repairs .

dac1842 :
Am I responsible for the power poles and trimming tree limbs on the greenbelts?
