After Alisha (I was in preschool), Ike in 2008, and Harvey in 2017. I have learned that if power isn't restored within 24hrs, just prepare for weeks. Other than Alisha, which I barely remember, the longest I have gone without power is 2-3 weeks. Make the best of it, make memories with loved ones, and hopefully your power will be restored sooner than later.
I really hope that time estimate is not correct. Seen a lot for power trucks all over the area in the last hour. Anyone know who's responsible for clearing those trees from the power lines? HOA? CenterPoint? Seems like a lack of maintenance on someone's behalf contributes to this.
Really hoping with the crews in the Kingwood area that they get your power restored tonight. I drove around and counted at least 10 trucks. 🤞
DSSDad : Centerpoint is responsible for maintaining their line right of way.
I literally just took a cold one. We were going to grab a hotel for the night but everyone I called from Humble to New Caney was full. I hate feeling gross and my house feels unclean as well 😆
Yeah, my VERY Unprofessional opinion is Monday at the earliest for us (Trailwood.) 1 day (one crew) to clear the brush & trees and the next day the pole and line crew to get us going.
As said earlier in the posts, there has been no trucks, no work done on this area leading to Trailwood. So, two days after we're paid some attention.

Ike, it was like 2.5 weeks for us. That was when I started saving money. That was miserable and I'm so sorry we have so many still waiting for power.

billcherie2 : 5500 watts. Right now, the following is plugged into it: -Our fridge. -The garage freezer. -A stand up portable AC. -4 floor fans. -3 lights. -My coffee maker. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ -A small TV. -Tachus modem. HAnd it's charging all our cell phones & tablets. We try and turn off multiple things before we add anything else (or if we need to use multiple things at once) but right now the generator is carrying the full load and doing fine. We are adding fuel every 6-8 hours.
Trailwood update (not good) A Centerpoint employee just told my neighbor it will likely be Thursday or Friday before we have power back. 😠This is why. They haven't even started to fix it yet. 🤦â€â™€ï¸ I have 2 dogs, so a hotel is not an option. We're using our mini generator to run the fridge and a few other things. Thankfully, yesterday we purchased a portable AC unit. It was $400 bucks 😳 but it has been worth it today. âœ³ï¸ I can tell you this - We have made the decision that we are getting a Generac generator ASAP after this crap! We're getting an home equity line of credit and doing it. I'm so done with this crap.
