Tragedy in Kings River Village:

Tragic! Harris County Sheriff's Office units responded to the 20900 blk of Heather Grove Ct (Kings River Village - Humble). A tree fell on a house and a man was trapped under debris. Preliminary info indicates one person has been confirmed deceased. Fire department is on-scene.

The man (53) was reportedly sitting in house with family, riding out the storm. An oak tree fell on roof and hit rafters, structure fell on the male. Wife and children unharmed.

I'm out in the field and trying to make my way there.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez

That's my biggest fear during these events. I have huge trees in my front yard. So sad for this family. A terrible tragedy. 🙏🙏🥲

Oh no! Trees falling on houses are the worst part of a storm IMO.

So very sad. I'm watching our big oaks bounce. A ND watching the entangled broken ones try to break loose.
A big branch fell onto the drive. Hence the reason I refuse to buy a new van (won't fit in the garage). Neighbor's dead tree broke and landed on his truck. I do not believe they are in the country. Neighbor's across the street have one broken too. We are in Conroe.

Really sad and traumatic for the family! I had my trees trimmed in April and still have numerous large branches down. I am so ready for this to be out of here completely!

The gate & front section of our fence are wind damaged. We have a small oak branch through the back porch roof. Lots of tree pieces around - back yard looks like someone randomly planted big shrubs everywhere.
We will may have walls of tree stuff across the front yards again like after Rita(?)!
