So much whinning over something free. This is why people no longer want to do the work for community benefit. People, LOSERS, who dont volunteer, dont help, dont financially support spend all this time and energy publicly complaining.

If you are not part of the effort and solution you need to shut up.

Goodness after this bashing if I were these people who did this work, I would never do it again for you ungrateful whiners.

Stealth83: From everything I've read last night and this morning, it sounds like the KCC sponsors it and decided to make it a semi-private event and sell tickets, and tonyaust had little choice but to let it go.

You're also right that the ones complaining aren't the ones giving their time and efforts to raise money, find sponsors and organize the event, and I also bet none will to make Ext year great.

Maybe it's time to let it go and let everyone pay $30-75 each to view it at the club. Or let them go downtown and pay $10 to view them. There's no free event to ***** about if it just completely goes away.

There, problem solved. 4951

Yes, the lack of fireworks was disappointing, but the band playing in Town Center was awesome! They deserve a big shout out! They rocked their hearts out for hours in the heat to entertain us and I just wanted to say thank you😊 4951

Seriously? I wasn't sure which was worse, the band or the lack of fireworks.  4951

I have to say I am not sure what happened in Kingwood last night. Just reading through all the posts now. We did go to the Woodlands last night and my family enjoyed a fantastic display at Lake Woodlands. We will definitely be going back next year. I am sorry for the folks who were disappointed here. 4951

Maybe a repeat performance in a visible location could be scheduled soon, so the disappointed kids would get to see fireworks. 4951

FeliciaFar:  Sure.  Got any suggestions as to who will pay for it?

I didn't realize how spoiled we've become. We aren't "owed" a redo. It was a mistake. I can't get over the temper tantrums by adults. This cost someone money. I'm sure they are disappointed in themselves. I hope I never do anything wrong. 😂 4951

City of Houston?

FeliciaFar:  This was not a COH event.  It was privately funded.  Kingwood.com posted a video and also live streamed it on Facebook for those unable to attend.  That is the next best thing to a re-do that will likely happen.

sweetie:  The "everyone is special, everyone wins" mindset breeds this type of entitlement behavior.  Life if full of disappointment.  **** happens DAILY.  These life lessons are what makes us grow as people.  We all grow when we learn to accept disappointments and move on.  The doesn't mean rage against being cheated your free fireworks, protests in mass when you don't get your way, resort to safe spaces and coloring books instead of nutting up, growing a pair and carrying on. What everyone needs to do is teach their kids, AND THEMSELVES, that yes, last night was disappointing, but there will be other fireworks, other parties, and it's okay to be disappointed but we have to move on.

This is why I normally don't visit these boards, people come here to complain about people complaining.  As was said, be part of the solution.  Tearing people down, because they were disappointed, is not a solution.    Since these even cost thousands of dollars and you have to have a permit to do it, a redo probably isn't possible.  There are plenty of other event to attend next year, if they don't fix this one.          4951
