Been on vacation for last week, so just now seeing this thread....LOL... A few points:We actually go to KCC every year to watch fireworks. We sat near the 18th hole so they were right above our heads. We could literally smell them. It was pretty awesome. We are definitely not "richies" although we are going to see Lionel at Toyota Center next month. This will be our 3rd time. He puts on a GREAT show. Seriously. My band plays a lot of events at country clubs around Houston and KCC is by FAR the least pretentious one I've ever been around in any capacity. I would definitely be **** had I been with my family in TC. Just because no one died doesn't mean you have no right to voice your displeasure about something. Yes, these fireworks ultimately aren't that big of a deal, but as long as someone brought up life lessons to be learned from it all.......I think teaching kids to just "get over it" is doing them a huge disservice. I don't want my kids to just "get over it" for the rest of their lives. I want them to be assertive and not just take whatever life throws at them without ever speaking up or fighting back. The band at KCC was really good. They usually just have some loser singing karaoke to sequenced instrument tracks, or even worse, a DJ with an iPod......but this year they must have finally decided to pay for a real band and it was totally worth it. 4951

Tony Austin, you need to step down because of this mess. Clear and simple. If something like this happened at a real business you would not have to, it would have been done for you already. Your letter, while informative, was nothing but an excuse for either poor planning or just plain favoritism. Whatever the reason you are ill equipped to do that job. 4951
One more note on KCC....we did the $29.99 package and although the food and entertainment was included, the drinks were definitely not. And it was HOT. Probably hotter than TC, since there's not a lot of shade on the driving range. The VIP package isn't really our style. It's the 4th of July....you're supposed to be outside eating hotdogs, drinking adult beverages, listening to music and sweating your *** off! 'Merica!
