There were several ambulances that went to Kingwood Country club (Swimming pools) during the day on July 4th. I think there was a very serious accident with the diving board earlier in the day. Of course this doesn't have to do anything with the fireworks, but this is just an FYI for those discussing their Kpark picnic issue. Hopefully they will reschedule the picnic for another day

@crawdadct :Some of that article makes sense. Â Here's how I imagine it played out:Kingwood Town Center (KTC) is faced with a budget shortfall for the July 4 celebration. Â All the costs grow year over year, but the fireworks cost is the biggest spend. Â In an effort to shore up the budget, they start looking for sponsors. Â They reach out to Kingwood Country Club (KCC), seeing as they've been nice enough to let the fireworks be shot on their land for the past years. Â The KCC people kick it around and say, "Hey, if we're going to pitch in for these fireworks, we should get something for our generosity. Â Why don't we make the donation contingent on firing the fireworks where we can see them better. Â After all, we'll be paying for half of it, we should get a front row seat." Â KTC is unable to find any other sponsor willing to fork up the $ they need and begrudgingly accept the proposal. All of this is communicated to Sky Wonders Pyrotechnic (SWP; fireworks people) who have done the same show in the same spot for the past however many years. Â This year, something's changed. Â It's not terribly difficult for a professional to see who this benefits. Â And SWP's guy is in a crappy PR situation. Â I'm going to go out on a limb and imagine that they said, "We really think moving the firing site will impact the main viewing sites around town (KHS, area surrounding Town Center)." Â And I'm going to imagine he got told, "The KCC people paid for half this year and we are moving the firing site to accommodate a request that this year's contract became dependent on." Â And if you read Mr. Austin's statement, he implies future years would be impacted by this, as well.SWP can't go out on record and say, "We warned these *ssholes that taking the same show (including firing heights) and moving it away from viewing areas that have a field of trees that block low-angle viewing will have a notably poor outcome, but they paid the contract and we did what we were told to do in that contract."But if you read between the lines, squint a little and have a little faith in professionals who take pride in doing their job right... I think that's *exactly* what happened. 4951
I really doubt any of the parties gave it much thought at all. Least of all SWP. SWP - I'm shooting them here, not there.....OK!
KTC - KCC wants to contribute and move the launch site?....OK!
KCC - this has better sight lines for our folks, why not move it?....OK! 4951

Rumored ppl at the apartments on Kings Crossing could see them...so they were visible further than Town Center. Mission Successful! 4951
