Live in KW but we've been out of town a few weeks. Was there a fireworks show on Sat. July 1st  around Kings Harbor?I'm really disappointed to read about the 4th's usual fireworks display beinglimited to those at the CC. Sad 4951

It saddens me too that you feel this way. Just because people who thought of the fireworks as an annual tradition and went with their children and saw nothing felt disappointed is OK. What is not OK is moving them to accommodate the people who spent $65 to be able to stay in the air conditioned Club and watch them. It is rumored that the fireworks were moved so these people would be able to still see them from their tables. If this is truly the reason, then the people who didn't get to see them are not the disappointed entitled ---- but the people who paid the $65 for dinner and a fireworks show are the entitled ones. I don't think they felt entitled; however, I do think KCC felt these people were entitled since they paid $65.00 for dinner and fireworks. I've lived in Kingwood for 39 years, we are life time member of the Kingwood Country Club, but I still think this is a terrible reason to prevent hundreds of community residents from seeing the fireworks. Since living in Kingwood for the past 39 years, we have enjoyed the "free" fireworks provided by our merchants. We started gong to the Humble football stadium years ago. Loads of fun. Set up picnic tables and everyone brought food to share. Later free fireworks at town center. So let's not talk about entitlement. How about years of tradition. 4951

We watched from the Country Club. It was still hot, humid, & buggy. Not everyone watched from AC comfort. 4951

Thank you for the clarification. I see now it was sponsored by the Town Center Park and the Kingwood Country Club. Thank you, Kingwood.com, for letting people vent. 4951

There was a pretty nice breeze blowing across the course once the sun started setting though.

I figured something like that happened. My first thought was "Oh my Goodness, someone is going to feel awful about this". Then my 10 year old daughter & I stayed & relaxed while many angry people stomped off with upset children in tow. I'm sure the heat and drinks, probably had gotten to some. While we sat there, I spoke with her about all the blessings we had this 4th of July, and all the fun we had in the short hour and 1/2 we were there. We were able to relax, enjoy each other's company, eat yummy food and I was able to take a short break from work.Sure the lack of view of the fireworks was disappointing, but really, there is so much to be grateful for.Waiting for the crowd to thin out, we ended up picking up trash that so many groups left behind. It's all good. Hopefully, there will be a silver lining in all this for next year's event.  4951

Just another reason Kingwood will never be like the Woodlands! They do multiple shows so everyone has fun! Their shows are always no cost. This is why I will be moving back in that area as soon as possible!

Wow! Just Wow! The Fourth of July Celebration has done nothing but bring complaints-lots and lots of them. From the public fireworks-to the neighbors popping them- ect. Look at all the threads about fireworks in the last couple days here. It's over at ADC too (they are mad because of the traffic ect and they changed the parade and they did this and that ect).Just way too much complaining, imo. 4951

@IzzysMommy:

So if I read it right, it was a joint venture between town center and KCC. Town center didn't know it was going to be seen close to KCC rather than town center. So maybe next year it will be two? I doubt they could both get permits for the same night. So it looks like KCC did this for money and didn't really care if the community could see it. So wouldn't that be on the KCC? 4951

The Kingwood Country Club ruined the Class of 17' Senior Picnic, a very special event that my Senior got robbed of and can't get back. Disappointed twice within a few months. They need new Mgmt. 4951
