Bjasonb76 - There's this whole fireworks brewhaha and now you're saying the Delorian that I saw with my very own eyes was a LIE?  Oh brother, I need to lay down. What can be done next year is to take the math nerds in their Junior year at KHS and KPHS for some help. That's about when they learn basic trigonometry, isn't it?  That's all that needed to solve the problem here, that I've laid out in this handy-dandy MS Paint diagram.  Is it possible someone ****ed this easy problem up?  Sure.  Should *this* many professionals - the pyrotechnic company, event planners for both the Kingwood Town Center group and the KCC group, etc. - have ****ed up a problem this simple?  Probably not if they thought about it.  And, there's the rub.  It's very likely nobody gave this any thought.  Because if they did... they'd have fixed it.  But like Mr. Austin said, they believed.  Stay in school, kids.  Math gets you fireworks.  Belief gets you **** on by the whole town. But, hey, we got what we paid for.  So that's fair, I s'pose.  Just another reason for me to obnoxiously tell anybody who will listen just how much better the Northeast US is than Texas. And this thread has made for fantastic reading along with my popcorn and sippin' rum.  So cheers!

And we pay thousands of dollars to live in this beautiful community.

Bjasonb76:

You will pay thousands of dollars to live in any community. Here none of that money we pay goes towards Kingwood's fireworks, though a smidge goes towards the COH event. 4951

Look, I'm just trying to assist in the rehabilitation of the thousands of 2-year olds that were denied the opportunity to see bright flashes of light and big bangs in the sky. It appears as if this will continue to be an issue for the thousands of parents that braved the heat, humidity, mosquitoes... and spent waaay too much money on funnel cakes and fried Snicker bars... until their kids see fireworks. We must remedy this tragedy!!! 4951

it might be a sneaky dastardly plot by renegade psychologists to traumatize the kingwood children so that they need therapy and the psychologists get to buy bmws and send their kids to good schools... 4951

I know for certain that there is virtually nowhere left in Kingwood to set off an explosion. I looked everywhere for a place to hold the annual rocket launch for the CAP squadron with no success. The closest place I found was in Huffman! As a Kingwood business owner I will say that I have never been approached to be a sponsor for Town Center Fireworks. Small businesses are always looking for ways to give back to their community....but we can't do it if we don't know there is an opportunity to help.  4951

It's all about the money. You would of thought they would of at least fired one off the night before to see if you could see it from Town Center. It's not rocket science. I

I think one of the biggest problems now is that the disappointed people are being laughed at and ridiculed. It's rather rude and I think you are definitely running off the very people who spend their money in this community. Buy local, #~>* that!

You laugh about upset kids and make fun of their feelings, toughen them up you say. I would much rather have a disappointed child than a child like yours who is never upset about anything because they have zero expectations. That's pathetic, those are the kids who will succeed in life. NOT lol

So when you're being nasty and rude to your neighbors and fellow citizens, just remember who buys local.

I think I will call the firework vendor, I think they should read these posts, it's only fair since they're being thrown under the bus.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. Let's get the other side of the story. Then all will be answered. 4951

Look at the feed on the TCP FB site and then tell me how rational some of those parents are behaving. Most don't mention that their children were "disappointed"; it was characterized that they were almost traumatized. And, my family has bought local since we moved here in the early '70's. Again... you're welcome. 4951

My kids are grown, but I don't think any mild disappointments they have suffered, like not going to the watermelon festival one year, have made them better people. Edit: or not affected them AT ALL..

Stuff happens..no need to make it a reason to attack anyone but putting it into a proper perspective can be helpful. I doubt seriously any kids are still crying today over it.
