Went to Mikes in Dayton. It was not bad. We had the buffet but they were out of pie. But the banana pudding on the buffet was excellent and I do love banana pudding.
Now I will say it was about 30 minutes to get there but let's face not too much traffic on the way to Dayton. Have yall ever been there?

Donnawisdom : I've been to Dayton but haven't tried Mikes yet. On my to do list.
peppermintstick : I wouldn't say it was fabulous but if you were over 60 the buffet was 11.95. It was a little town cafe so there was some charm to it. I guess we now have to back with our daughter. Butler is going to get the brisket sandwich. I am hoping they will have pie.

Donnawisdom: I have many times I don't usually eat the buffet; i’m not big on buffets and I also don’t like catfish that has been sitting at all. I want it to be so hot and fresh when it serves to me that I can’t touch it. I usually get a cheeseburger and they now have onion strings. Both arecso good. They sell out of pie very quickly ,so we are usually there about 11:30 in the morning to eat, and the minute we sit down ,we order our piece of pie, and let it sit there while we eat 
my favorites are the chocolate and the coconut, but the peanut butter pie is also awesome. They are all homemade.!
Kaylagirl : Mike's, Dayton , TX. 117 Bryan Street. Little old school diner spot; very nice staff. We always get their cheeseburgers, onion strings and fries, and order our pie, When we sit down. You can walk over to the pie case when you get there, and see what they have. you can also order whole pies a week ahead of time ; we have often had a chocolate pie for my youngest son's birthday; theirs is his favorite.
Kaylagirl: Mike also makes great homemade chicken and dumplings. You just have to look at their Facebook page and see what days they're going to have them.
