Today on ReduceFlooding, a guest editorial by a former MoCo MUD president about the dangers and hidden costs of unlimited groundwater pumping. He contends that MoCo is heading for a water crisis. See how that affects Kingwood residents. reduceflooding.com/2 026/11/01/the-cheap- water-is-gone-montgo mery-countys-wa

Thank you BOB for this news. We have a MUD district here in Kings Manor but half of Kings Manor i believe is Harris county, the rest of us Montgomery county. Not sure how all this wors out but residents do complain of high cost of water from COH. Rain barrels are helpful. Hate to see sprinklers watering the roadways.
Jeepinbear, jv339 and Barbrandy reacted I told them so but noooobody listens to me. A few decades ago, I lived in Montgomery County and did not have a water bill because we had a well. I was still very careful with water usage much to the laughter and derision of my neighbors. "Think you're gonna run out?! hahahaha ..." But I had grown up in an arid region and knew how important it was to be mindful of groundwater resources. And, I was also aware of how costly it is once the "easy" sources are depleted.
I even complained and said that residents with their own wells should still be charged so that residents could relate their water usage to dollars. That went over like a ton of bricks! So yeah .... told them!
Laughing at me with my rain barrels and such ... huh!!
Okay, schadenfreude rant over ...
Thank you so much for keeping track of this & keeping us informed!❤️
