Yeah, I know it will be relentlessly loud in our neighborhood . There are several neighbors who spend a ton of money on fireworks and then leave the mess in the middle of the road.

Girl, I can just see him pulling up and getting out of his truck with a 12 pack of Busch under one arm and a 12 pack of Natural Light under the other😂. And I have a huge window over the front door, so can enjoy some of the show from the comfort of my recliner.

Texasdad : It is what it is and I enjoy watching them. I just turn on my free white noise (some people like brown noise or other sounds) app on my iPhone and play it through my Walmart blue tooth speaker loudly and run my loud box fan and I sleep like a baby all night!!

Amen. All the "cool" dads wanting to impress neighborhood children by breaking the law will be out tonight. I hate to be a buzz kill about this. I can deal with the noise a few days a year, but we are in a drought. I visited Bastrop after their fire and it was horrific. Check out online pics. A treed community like ours.

I quit celebrating once I figured out I wasn't free at all and never was free. We are all slaves here. Buying fireworks is a waste of money just like the other holidays they make people celebrate.

Sadly, the day that people decide to break the law this way, is also a weekend where there is a big increase in homicides, DWI's ,domestic disputes that end in murder ,or other violent crimes, disputes involving firearms and other weapons,and due to increased traffic; road rage, etc. It's not that law-enforcement does not care. It's just that the minute they put their seatbelt on at the beginning of their shift, during a weekend like this, and open the computer in their car, there are already 6 to 7 Pages of incidences that they are called to, to help. That list is" triaged", or listed from the worst, in descending order. Honestly, if neighborhoods could hire private security during those 4th, to have them police a particular area, it would be helpful. The laws on fireworks Use are clear, as well as the boundaries. It's too bad that adults can't just obey Simple laws.

It's a couple days a year. Live and let live. Sometimes, myself included we can find ourselves looking for things to get annoyed at. I think this is an example of looking for something to be annoyed by. It's my form of protest. Fireworks were legal in Kingwood before annexation therefore in my mind the law does not apply to me as I was here prior to annexation and never asked to be a citizen of the COH.

Here on the Mississippi gulf coast the hubby and I will most likely take a couple of beach chairs and drinks down to the beach around 7:00 and watch the fireworks that are shot off across the bridge. Visitors currently staying in the RV park down the beach road from us were pretty respectful last night with their fireworks. They had all but stopped by 11:00. The only thing I don't like about all the firework activity is the trash some people leave on the beach. The Roman candles are beautiful when they are being shot off but I hate seeing the empty tubes lying around on the sand the next morning. The hubby and I will no doubt be out picking up trash later tonight or tomorrow. Thank goodness the 4th of July only happens once a year. I wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday. ❤️🙏🏻✝️☀️
