ERCOT one of our favorite entities is concerned about the demand for the data centers. Thats telling you something.
rocklady2024 : Great for your husband and no idea if this is part of his area of work. I don't think I would really publicize that with current controversy. Currently there is no indication the data center to go in Jacinto city will not draw from the regular grid they do no have in their plans for an independent power grid. Water will be used from the resource found in the area. Not like they can make more water. Land Subsistence is real and the Houston area has history of this.

Not a good idea. Major health concerns for people living by them. Research it. Where is it going close to Kingwood?

From an electrical utility economist: The people building the data centers had better come up with some serious cash to upgrade the electric utilities in many of the areas they plan on building data centers. One that floored me the other day was I heard that they want to build several data centers in Box Elder County, Utah. Do you have any clue where Box Elder County is? I'll tell you, it's the north western corner of Utah, up against the Idaho/Nevada borders. The county is bigger than the the state of Connecticut. 90% of the population of the county is in the eastern 10% of the county along the I-84 corridor. The builders figure they will need 9 Gigawatts of power. Does anybody have any clue how much power that is? You could power up most of Los Angeles with that much power. Considering 90% of the county is wide open spaces with one person per sq mile they are more than a little upset about it.

Seems like the Permit for Data Center must include separate Data Center power gen. AND independent water supply.

The Data centers are over using water resources.
I watched a video saying that the noise is unbearable and it is causing livestock to pretty much go mad from it. Families are having to sell their horses and small stock to save them and they can't sell their houses because of the rattling homes. Their water pressure went down to a trickle too.

#msg5921641What are your thoughts for data centers? Just read on chron a big one is going in Jacinta city -power useage =80k homes
If they try to put one in your area you better fight to keep them out. It doesn't take a lot of research to see what they've done to communities electric and water tables. New Brunswick, New Jersey. Just fought this battle.
