Well, it was less combat than I thought it would be! Maybe everyone was out 'day after' shopping, before 11 am , as I was working til then, today. Everything I got is in Photo #1, and the total for all items was $12. Here is the 4-1-1:
WalMart, Porter:
Reasonable amount of people. I park my basket and 'walk in' to an aisle, so I grab and go, and it's easier. They have Christmas merch at 50% off, but holiday foods and candy is only 25% off. They have moved most merch to the garden area, and are putting out Valentine's Day stuff, now. Don't forget the 'candy/seasonal' aisle in the food section, Also has Xmas merch!
Dollar General:
No signs posted, and had to ask. They have removed all wrapping paper, and the cashier told me that "some" merch is marked down. Hrghhh? Which? What? Luckily, the cute coffee mugs Were marked down, so got a few as next year gifts, on sale for $2.50. ( VW bus mug in pic, there are others...with dogs, too, so cute!
Pop Shelf: Don't sleep on this spot. 50% off, clearly marked. Good wrapping paper, large candle, 2 wick, for $5, and other nice things, still there.
HEB: ( 59/N'park). Busy, but I parked over by the Liquor Store, in the side strip there. People mostly buying groceries, it was pretty full, but lots of registers open, and their Christmas merch is 50% off, Plus it looks like they brought in some items, as I had not seen them, before. Sets of 2 pillows, ( Texas Santa), an elf on the shelf, TX style, tree ornaments, candles, and lot of good items, all marked down. Hand soaps,etc near the cosmetic section, and some throws on the endcaps, all marked down, too.
Kroger is the Grinchiest! They have removed most of the merch, and the leftovers are in one corner. Some candy, and wrapping paper is on sale, but not overly attractive.
Get out there, people, there are some good deals to be had!

I grabbed this bag @ HEB a few weeks ago. The red "Hallmark" truck caught my eye and I thought stuffing it with tissue paper as near the tree decor would be fun. It looked great and we will use it in the future.

donnatella : Love that one; those are on sale for $1 now, and the smaller ones ( good for small gifts, too), are only 75 cents. They seemed to have been putting these out Only along the wall rack, which is After the self checkouts, at HEB 59/NP. They had removed them in the checkout aisles, themselves. So, go past the floral dept first, and check there, when you get to the store. They had some cute throws of the HEB Oreos , 50% off, too. They are large throws.
