I leave nothing to chance. I am trying to teach my kids that but they think nothing will happen. One got his car stolen and when we popped the trunk it was packed from his move back home from college. They left the trunk put took a new pair of shoes from his back seat.

So, apparently, there's a way to hijack people's FOB when used to lock your car. It's similar to skimming, I suppose. People will wait around in a parking lot with their techie devices to incerpet the lock info/signal and break into cars. Since learning this, I always lock my doors by hand.

Police could set up so many traps and catch a lot of these thieves…

Yikes - I'm so sorry!Does the gym have lockers? This is also a big thing at daycares. Moms (mostly) park and go in but, with kid(s) to manage, they don't typically bring in their handbags. AStay safe everyone!

Babieborris : I read your post stating such. Scary! Did a little research. There was a time I was driving around and my locked doors kept unlocking. It was happening for about a week and I thought I was losing my mind! This was within the last couple of years. I notified a buddy of mine about it, trying to figure out what would cause car doors to unlock like that.I just sent him the article I found. While my car is older... it does have sirusXM. My mind is absolutely blown, but I'm glad I've been made aware! 👀

luv2eatsushi : So what happens when they steal the entire vehicle? I really have no sympathy for anyone that leaves their firearm in a vehicle. If you are going to carry, carry it all the time or leave it at home. I have been broken into multiple times when I trained at Lifetime only because I drive a truck. They literally bust out the glass just to get to the console thinking more than likely there is a pistol because most Texans leave a pistol in the console because that's what truck owners do here. Never leave anything that you don't want stolen in a vehicle and the perps are on the cutting edge as already mentioned. They can steal ur vehicle just by plugging into ur port under the dash. Put a lock cover on it. Also put ur key fob in a cover so they can't intercept the signal or just wrap it in aluminum foil.
