Picasso13 : I found this online but not sure how accurate it is. The Houston Police Department and City of Houston Active Incidents logs show a reported major non-fatal crash at 3603 W Lake Houston Parkway Kingwood Active Incidents - Houston. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 1:11 PM, though official details confirming a scooter's involvement have not yet been released.
cbear : omg the stories I could tell….it needs to stop. littles have NO BUSINESS sharing the roadways with 5 ton chunks of steel. I personally have witnessed two sidewalk mishaps, a near potential fatality, littles driving down kingwood dr for gawd sakes…..countless parking lot stupidity's…..and two Houston children have already died…..crazy nuts. I have a compilation of photos to take to schools and police station if problem isn't resolved via community measures. This should be a no brainer. JUST SAY NO I pray schools prohibit them from campus. That would be a great start.

MissAmericanPie : Yes! If they get with the schools, I bet it would be possible to ban the scooters on campus before the start of the school year...soon!

LittleTexas : I don't even think there are labels. Maybe something is the manual about wearing a helmet, but that's it. They need big labels like what they put on alcohol or cigarettes. Also talk about it at school programs, do they still do that where people come and talk about dangers is drugs, fire safety, etc ?
MissAmericanPie : Prayers for all involved. I hope that the child will be alright, and I'm sure it was also very traumatic for the person who was driving and hit them.
KingwoodNana : yes, there are safety programs in place. lots of literature and give away to the kids, and they have an officer give a short talk. The kids enjoy it, but the Parents are buying these scooters, and then Letting their kids break the law
MissAmericanPie : Praying for the child and everyone involved. Praying also that parents will see the dangers and step up to their parental responsibilities.
There needs to be a warning label on them and a public awareness campaign. There have been so many unnecessary traumatic brain injuries. It is apparently a global problem.

I went to church with a couple that left their baby in a hot car. They each thought the other one got the baby out of the car.! It was a horrible ending.
