Chow :
A one issue voter, how smarr is that?
Odyssey96 :
It is very difficult to speak positively about how Paxton's wealth has grown without explanation. Help us by doing it.
Then speak postively about the biblical reasoons for herdivorce.
Then address the tax returns he can"t.
Thenl his staff that called the whilblower tiplines and their subsequent illegal firings.
I'm tired of writing so I'll stop, but I'll listen and read so please do present the positives of at east what I mentioned.
Write that positive campaign ad.

Watching political debates over 50 years, can honestly say not one of them have changed my vote. The platforms they are running own are so much more telling.

Me neither, but I start from a highly partisan viewpoint.
Wonder how debates affect independents?

sebastian2 :
Key Takeaways
More than half of Gen Z and Millennials identify as politically independent.
Older generations are far more likely to affiliate with the Republican or Democratic parties. Just had to Google generations that ID as independent, they make up younger voters mostly. I am partisian to platforms not so much people. I think MAGAs are partisian to people not platforms

The debate occurs every day. Every time you drive your vehicle, pay for its insurance or repair, go grocery shopping,, pay your electric bill, water bill, go out to lunch/dinner, buy some clothes or hardware item, or any other financial dealing that you may have during your normal day.

It happens every time you pray to not get sick and incur a long term physical indebtedness. It happens as your bank account somehow, winds up lower each month, with no increase in income. It happens when your family is taking turns caring for a member who was injured and can no longer work.

It occurs every single day day.in every schollhouse and medicah facility.

Why else do you think the Paxton is too afraid to debate? The constituents deserve a debate in a fair election. Paxton's afraid of Talarico wiping the floor with his lack of intelligence and criminality.

Trump is no more MAGA than I am. He is the spokesperson/salesman paid by project 2025 sponsors to influence the uneducated for votes.

#msg6028523Sophos3 : The snake in the Garden was intelligent too. Or was it just a snake talking to fool someone.

Texas1965 :
Or another option (stay with me here) the snake and the garden were an allegory for mankind's loss of innocence, the burden of self-awareness, and our departure from the rest of nature. I'll share four words in Hebrew that pull the garden allegory completely out of a literal, historical context.

One is adamah, which is Hebrew for earth or ground. Second is adam, which in Hebrew literally means man. Next is gan eden, which translates to garden of delight, abundance, or even luxury. Lastly, there is nachash, which means snake but has a double meaning. It's not the devil, but rather it shares key root consonants. When you look at the root n-ch-sh, it translates to practicing divination, casting spells, or reading omens.

As for the Devil, that concept is popularized in the New Testament. People pulled the Hebrew word satan, which simply means to oppose, accuse, or generally get in the way. Ha-Satan is used for a nemesis, an adversary, or (I kid you not) a prosecuting attorney in celestial context.

Presenting a Christian misunderstanding of a Jewish text isn't true elaboration... it's quite vague in fact. None of this is to be rude or sarcastic. When I ask for elaboration, context, or further information, I am being quite literal.

SorryInAdvance: love it. They're so frightened to debate because Talarico would kick his *** in a debate.

#msg6002491Last good debate was Kennedy/Nixon. Downhill ever since.

Reivax :
Quail/Bentsen VP debate in 1998 made this truly memorable moment.

The phrase "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy" comes from the 1988 U.S. vice-presidential debate.
• The Speakers: Democratic Senator Lloyd Bentsen of Texas and Republican Senator Dan Quayle of Indiana.
• The Context: Dan Quayle compared his own congressional experience and youth to that of former President John F. Kennedy (Jack Kennedy) when Quayle defended his qualifications for national office.
• The Retort: Lloyd Bentsen replied, "Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy, I knew Jack Kennedy, Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy."
• The Legacy: The line became a famous political catchphrase used to deflate politicians who are seen as overconfident or lacking the stature of those they try to emulate.
