I have been with Verizon from the late 80s when cellular phones were permanently installed in cars. The company name was GTE(?) back then. We went to AT&T for one contract only - our service was horrible. A pilot friend recommended AT&T as the best overall coverage - it was constant weak signals for us.

StormChaser : That is a really good reason to stay with Tmobile. Verizon doesn't give us anything. Now that we don't travel they would probably work for us. In the early cellphone days Verizon had the best nationwide coveerage which was our incentive.

So it was GTE! Thank you for the confirmation. I thought so but that was decades ago. I got my first cellphone in 1988. It was mounted in the car and charged by the minute so it basically was an emergency convenience. The rates were crazy expensive for casual conversation.

Everyone here raves about Tachus. I'm new in Kings Crossing. Not only was mine out for hours last night, but this is the 3rd time mine has been down since I moved here 2 mos. ago. Not too impressed with Tachus so far, but I guess it's better than the local alternatives. Does anyone know why we don't have AT&T fiber here? Seems so bizarre to me!

I did receive a phone call from a very nice Tachus guy that afternoon saying that although the issue had been resolved they wanted to be sure to reach out and check with me.
