Swallow-Tail Hawk. What a graceful raptor. I have been seeing

I saw them also. The are acutely a kite not a hawk. Swallow-Tail Kite. Although they are in the Hawk family.

Iv'e seen them soaring over KPARK @ Woodland Hills in the evening .

I thought folks might better understand hawk. TY for clarifying and you are correct.

I've seen them pretty regularly this year over the bayou that runs through Mills Branch..more than any previous years I can remember. They are quite a sight! I just worry about them hurting our nestling songbird population as we usually hatch several families of cardinals and others in our yard shrubbery each year

golfshot : Duh!!! I didn't think of that. You were correct in calling it a Hawk. With out a picture of it and most people not knowing it's a kite/ bird they would assume it was a kite/kite. I had the picture of the bird in my mind but most probably would not.

They primarily eat insects even wasps. Come & get my wasps please.

Lots of bugs so no wonder they look very healthy!
